Deleting your data
Last updated 3 September 2026.
If you are a customer who messaged or called a business
We hold the messages you sent that business, your public display name,
the account identifier Facebook or Instagram gave us, and any note the business
kept about you. We do not have your email address, and we hold a phone number
only if you gave one to make a booking, or you telephoned the business, in which
case we hold the number you called from for 90 days.
To have it deleted, contact us. Contact us through the business that connected your account.
Tell us which business you messaged or called, and the name on your Facebook or
Instagram account or the number you called from, so we can find your records.
We will confirm within 7 days and delete within 30 days. There is no charge.
Message content is deleted automatically after 90 days
regardless, so if you do nothing it still goes.
If you are a business using MeOlogy
Tell MeO in your own thread: remove my salon from MeOlogy. You confirm
by typing your salon's name. Replies to customers stop at once, and everything
we hold for your salon is deleted 7 days later unless you send one
message to cancel. During those days you can download everything we hold from
your dashboard.
You can also remove MeOlogy from your Facebook settings, under
Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations.
That immediately revokes our access. Then ask us to delete your stored data.
What deletion means
- Message and comment content, and any drafts, are removed from the database.
- Stored access tokens are destroyed.
- Billing records are kept without message content, because we are required
to keep financial records.
- Backups are overwritten on their normal cycle, within 30 days.
What we cannot delete
Messages and comments in Facebook and Instagram themselves belong to those
platforms. Delete those in the Facebook or Instagram app.
